FAQ

I am often asked about the "added value" of professional recordings. Images taken with smartphones now have such a good quality that one can rightly ask this question. Smartphones are great for recordings that are viewed only on small screens or for small printouts.

The integrated software improves photos and even creates a kind of "blur" – what makes portraits interesting. However, the results are not always optimal. The software tries to detect where the "background" starts with a person and then cuts it out – it's called "mask". The "masked" background is artificially blurred. The software does not always work reliably – fine hair structures or low-contrast backgrounds are a real challenge for artificial intelligence and the results are very error-prone.

This is where the strengths of "real" cameras lie. The sensors are much larger, more sensitive to light and less noisy. The optics are of higher quality. The background blur is not "calculated" but is created by physical laws of optics, which is clearly noticeable in the quality of the shots. This is just one aspect – to mention all the advantages here would be beyond the scope.

RAW means raw data format. All photo data is stored unedited by the sensor. Depending on the camera and resolution, images that are 50 MB or larger are created. In contrast to photos developed directly in the camera, which are a few kilobytes up to 15 MB in size, depending on the setting.
The difference in detailed information for RAW images is noticeable afterwards during image processing and thus in the image result. From a RAW, in terms of colors, sharpness, exposure, lens correction, a lot more is "getting out" then from a simple jpeg.

If your friend has a good eye and a lot of experience, why not? Make your own experiences and test what the difference is.

First of all, I am pleased that you are interested in my person and my pictures. It will first discuss what kind of shots you need (portraits, couples, business, real estate, wedding, animal photos, baby shooting, etc.) and an appointment. When selecting the product, you can orientate at my price list. If there is nothing suitable for you, I will of course create an individual offer for you.
More elaborate shootings are planned in a detailed preliminary discussion.
You will then receive an offer by e-mail. In the case of the award of the contract, I would like to make a down payment of 50% of the agreed fee.
After the shoot you will receive an e-mail with thumbnails of the shooting in low resolution with a watermark. You select the images agreed according to the order, which are to be edited in detail.
After optimization, they receive the recordings as files in various formats (e.g. for web, printouts up to DIN A 3, full resolution if necessary preparation for large format printing, etc.) on storage media or for download.
If desired, I take care of the printing on the media you have chosen (paper, wood, acrylic, aluminium dibond, etc.).

Every customer wants to know what they are getting and what it costs. A normal need. My motto is: Transparent • flexible • fair!

When purchasing my equipment, I deliberately placed emphasis on mobility (mobile studio flash system, mobile backgrounds, etc.). You don't need to come to me - I will come to you with my studio, no matter where.
I come to your home, to the office, to the shop or just to a nice location of your choice.

During the shoot, a variety of shots are taken. In post-processing, shots that are technically inadequate (sharpness, exposure, etc.) are first sorted out by me. The images are then basically edited.

You will then receive a link from me where you can download all the images. The images are in very low resolution and highly compressed to keep the file size for preselection as small as possible. My watermark can also be seen. It's just a matter of selecting the number of images named according to the order from these shots, which will be edited in detail later.

You will then receive these recordings in the following formats:

  • jpeg, 900 px long edge, sharpened for screen: e.B. for Instagram or Facebook
  • jpeg, 1200 px long edge: e.B. for websites, mobile phone, small photos (up to 10 x 15 cm)
  • jpeg, full resolution and quality: e.B. for TV, beamer, computer screen, printout up to DIN A3
  • jpeg, full resolution, compressed for WEB large format
  • Extra charge: TIFF format in full resolution (as prepress for large format printing for submission to professional print service providers; already included in the "Wedding" and "Business" packages)

The photographs are generally taken for private use (simple, non-transferable, temporally and spatially unlimited license). Duplication and printing within the framework of free thank-you cards or free souvenirs, albums for family, and friends is permitted.

The use in social media e.B. Facebook is also permitted.

Commercial use is only permitted after consultation and my consent. This is already included in the "Business" package. Additional license fees may apply for commercial use.
